Sherry Emrich

Sherry Emrich is a Primary Co-Teacher at Sea Rose.  She holds an Association Montessori Internationale Primary Diploma (ages 3 to 6) from Washington Montessori Institute at Loyola University, a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, a Master of Education degree from Regent University, and a Rhode Island Department of Education Early Childhood Teacher (Pre-K through Second Grade) Certificate. Sherry enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

Kathleen Croll Daily

Kathleen Daily is the Head of School at Sea Rose, as well as a Primary Co-Teacher.  She began her teaching experience as a Montessori teaching assistant and was later trained in an American Montessori Society (AMS) Primary Certification Program.  Her teaching experience in Montessori schools has included primary co- teacher positions and lead primary teacher.  She is presently working on her BA in Early Childhood Education. Kathleen is a product of early childhood Montessori education.  Her own children also attended a Montessori school. She attended Rhode Island School of Design, later owning a graphic design business.  Prior to Montessori teaching, Kathleen developed enrichment programing for local public and private school for many years. She enjoys rock climbing, reading, art spending time with her family.  

Diane Barba

Diane Barba is the Elementary Lead Teacher at Sea Rose.  Originally from Long Island, New York, Diane first took an interest in teaching during high school when she worked as a student aide in special education classrooms. Diane attended Northeastern University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies.  During college she was an after-school volunteer for Boston Public Schools. 

After graduation, Diane moved to Rhode Island and began pursuing a Master’s Degree at the University of Rhode Island. During this time, she was introduced to the Montessori philosophy and worked as a Montessori Primary Assistant in 2018.  In 2019 she joined the staff at Sea Rose Montessori and assisted in both the primary and elementary classrooms.  She is currently completing her third year of training at the Association Montessori Internationale- Elementary Program at the University of Hartford, Connecticut.  She will receive her AMI Elementary 6-12 Certification this summer and continue to complete her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  

Amarilis Centeno

Amarilis Centeno is the Elementary Assistant at Sea Rose.  She previously completed an early childhood education internship at Newport Montessori.  Amarilis is currently attending Rhode Island College and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.  Amarilis developed the Elementary Spanish Program and teaches Spanish to elementary students daily.  She also enjoys fostering early reading skills in a one-on-one setting, following the child and respecting their ability and willingness to learn.
