Suzanne McDonald

Former Boston Globe journalist, Board President Suzanne McDonald co-founded Sea Rose Montessori Co-op Elementary School in 2016 and spearheaded the recent $200,000 schoolhouse eco-reno.     

By day a Marketing Solutionist, Suzanne’s agency Angles & Insights guides clients to brand growth using digital media and marketing technology. 

Winner of the International Business Awards Internet New Media Company of the Year, Suzanne launched & taught several social and digital semester-long courses at the University of Rhode Island and Framingham State University.

Suzanne also founded and curates Newport Interactive Marketing networking-learning community — bringing expert speakers’ insights to local businesses, agencies & nonprofits — and has developed & hosted 100+ events, backed by an intern or two via Angles & Insights Student-to-Employment program.

Secretary and Treasurer:

Matt Daily

Matt Daily is the secretary of the board of Sea Rose Montessori and leader of the facilities team. 

Mr. Daily graduated from University of Michigan with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Penn State with a Masters in Acoustics. For the past 30 years Mr. Daily has been employed as a scientist at BBN Technologies, now Raytheon/BBN. He also taught graduate level computer science at Salve Regina from 1993 through 1997 as an adjunct professor. Mr. Daily served on the board of The Portsmouth Public Library from 2004 through 2013 and as Secretary of the Board of Quest Montessori from 2011 through 2015. 

Mr. Daily has been involved in education on a volunteer basis since 2002. Working with his Wife Kathleen and other volunteers, Mr Daily initiated a foreign language enrichment program at Elmhurst Public Elementary School in 2002 which survived until the school closed in 2007: the total number of students enrolled reached 150 after three years. In addition Mr. Daily taught computer game design for 4 and 5th graders in 2005 and 2006 and chess in 2007. In 2007 Mr. Daily was the technical lead in the initiation of the SMART board experiential learning initiative at Elmhurst, a program designed to engage active learners with interactive learning environments. Mr Daily founded the Quest FIRST LEGO League team in 2014 and successfully lead them to compete in the FLL that year. 

Mr. Daily is currently pursuing a PHD in Computer Science at URI and enjoys cycling, swimming, and carpentry.
