Sea Rose Montessori is giving back to our community at large through the Adopt a Trail program through Aquidneck Island Land Trust. Two months out of the year we walk the trails as partners in stewardship at the neighboring preserved land at Spruce Acres.

Montessori in Motion – Winter 2019
Children learn best when they are involved in authentic experiences that matter to them, experiences that are real life. The Montessori area of Practical Life is just one of these areas where a child can develop skills and build community from the primary thru the elementary years. Are you curious about a Montessori education? Why does Montessori have mixed age groups? What is the difference between a Montessori class and a traditional classroom? and Why are students washing dishes? Come learn more at this informational evening.
Fall Open House 2018
Sea Rose welcomed existing, new and perspective families to their open house. We were excited to present our newly eco-renovated building to the community. Guides walked parents through the new light filled spaces.
We Rocked the 80’s dance party (fun)draiser was held to support the renovation for our new eco friendly renovation. Thank you to our parent community and our community of business sponsors.

Sea Rose families and teachers meet with a growing community of interested local parents about a Montessori education, and unveiled its architectural drawings for a new renovated building on the same campus.

Fall Open House 2017
Sea Rose welcomed perspective families and community supporters to our fall open house. It was amazing to see so many parents with little ones interested in a Montessori education.
Upgrading the Playground 2017
In the spirit of a true school co-op parents, family and community members came together to upgrade the playground by spreading a mountain of mulch. As the saying goes many hands make light work.
Parent Welcome Potluck 2017
Our Montessori guides introduced parents on how to bridge Montessori learning into the home and went over the rituals and routines of the school day. Our families stayed for a potluck picnic after, enjoying the fall weather.
Student and Parent Orientation 2017
Students and parents came together the week before school began for orientation week. The students met with their Montessori guides and new classmates, and parents were welcomed into the Sea Rose community. It was a wonderful way to ease both parent and child into the new school.
Sea Rose Montessori Meet and Greet 2017
It was a fun filled afternoon as the community of future Sea Rose families came together to meet the teachers, see the classroom and a sampling of Montessori materials. The children engaged in fine motor activities such as sewing stitches in burlap, pushing colored wool into seedpods and making pictures with stones. The parents spent time speaking to the teachers and meeting additional Sea Rose families. So excited for September!
Sea Rose Montessori’s First Open House – May 24, 2017
Sea Rose Montessori welcomed families and educators interested in Montessori education to our new campus in Portsmouth, RI for our first open house. After a tour of our classrooms, we settled in for an an interactive presentation, led by Dr. Susan Zoll. She shares her insights as a Montessori educator and parent, and engaged us in revealing why each of us was drawn to Montessori for our children.
Dr. Zoll is an Assistant Professor of Education, and Director for Early Childhood Teaching and Learning at R.I College. She has spearheaded many educational initiatives and is currently focusing research on Montessori education.
