Building our Community

A note from our Board President:

Even though I had to miss the Open House, it was really wonderful for me to see all of you at the Sea Rose spring open house video.

My dad moved to Germany when I was 10 years old, which was life-changing. Recently we have been lucky to see him more often; in fact he was with us for this past weekend for his 74th birthday. Unfortunately the open house coincided with his trip, so I had to miss connecting with everyone.

As much as I wanted to meet and see all our Sea Rose family and friends – it was a hard decision – I knew that the Sea Rose community, with Sara (Grayson’s mom) leading the way, would host a wonderful event.

Why am I mentioning this to you?
The Sea Rose community is really built on connecting and understanding. Life is happening at rapid speeds, and often the time to connect, to feel supported as a parent, and a human is bypassed.

We support the experienced Sea Rose teachers and the rising stars in our assistants and treat them as parenting partners. We support one another as parents and fellow adventurers in life.

When there are concerns, we address them respectfully and emphatically, knowing that with reflection and understanding we will find a solution that works for the students and the community.

If you’re looking for that community or would like to learn more, you don’t need to wait for the next open house. Schedule a time to observe our classroom in action.

We would also love to have you be a part of our upcoming celebration. It was just 1 year ago that we decided to open Sea Rose Montessori and it’s time to celebrate!

We’ve accomplished so much in a year and have another busy year ahead of us as we expand our space and welcome many new students. But on May 5th, we will be pulling on our leg warmers and firing up our crimpers to dance the night away to the best of the 80’s! Join us.

Come have a “Sea Rose” margarita (thank you Perro Salado), bites from Mission and area eateries, Ragged Island and Newport Craft brews on tap, and wine selected by Perro. Bid on some really awesome silent auction deals as DJ Nook spin the music, then head over to the John Hughes movie lounge.

Tickets will sell out! So grab yours now and we look forward to spending time with you on May 5th.
